ABSTRACT
Degenerative elastic tissue disorders constitute a heterogenous group of rarely encountered disorders characterized by reduced elastic tissue in dermis.
Information on these disorders is limited, owing to a scant number of publications on the subject. Because of overlapping clinical and histological features, these disorders are causes of diagnostic difficulty for both dermatologists and dermatopathologists. There is no known curative therapy for most of these disorders.
This manuscript provides updated information on degenerative elastic tissue disorders based on relevant available publications.
