ABSTRACT

Churg-Strauss syndrome (CSS) or angiitis is an uncommon disorder, characterized mainly by asthma, allergic rhinitis, eosinophilia and systemic vasculitis.

Cutaneous manifestations of CSS are present in approximately 50% of patients and may be divided into three categories: erythematous maculopapules, hemorrhagic lesions and cutaneous or subcutaneous nodules. Here we report a 28- year old female patient with ANCA negative CSS in whose past medical record asthma, eosinophilia and cardiac arrest had been present, but diagnosis was based on her maculopapular and hemorrhagic skin lesions. The patient, who was given systemic corticosteroid and cyclophosphamide with prompt improvement in all systemic and skin manifestations, was free of symptoms during the 8 months of follow-up.
