ABSTRACT

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a rare tumor which develops from nasopharynx epithelial cells. Epstein-Barr virus infection, which plays an important role in the pathogenesis of the disease, is endemic in South Asia, where infection is common. It is rarely noticed before it spreads to regional lymph nodes. Cutaneous metastases are usually a late finding in advanced stage cancer, but rarely can occur in the form of first signs of undiagnosed cancers. We report here a case of nasopharyngeal carcinoma diagnosed by skin metastasis located in the neck region.
