ABSTRACT

Vitamin E, which has been used for a long time in clinical and experimental dermatology, is one of the most well-known antioxidant. Vitamin E and its derivatives have been widely used in cosmetic products to reduce the signs of photoaging. However, although a large number of case reports were published, the number of controlled clinical studies comparing the effects of vitamin E in dermatologic disorders is limited. In this article we aimed to review basic mechanisms and current clinical implications of vitamin E in dermatology.
